what is a doula? teamwork services about us
doula services

We work together.

A doula does not take the place of the laboring mother's partner! She works with the partner to assure that the mother's physical and emotional needs are met completely.

A doula offers knowledge and reassurance for the partner and the mother in the normal aspects of birth, of which a partner may not be aware.

A doula adapts her practice to the needs of individual families.

A doula allows the partner to enjoy the birth of his/her child without the pressure of being the laboring mother's sole support.

"It was my intention to be an active partner to support my wife during labor. ...Having a doula not only helped my wife, but truly helped me be the best birthing partner possible...I am very thankful for Kerstin's approach on getting to know what we were looking for in a doula. Her openness at being any type of support system we were looking for was very comforting."

"Kerstin is one of the main reasons we had such a wonderful labor experience. She helped my wife immensely with positions, recommending specific movements and helping her breathe. It truly felt like we were one team working together. As I held on to my wife through each contraction, Kerstin was there guiding us along. Without her, I do believe we would have felt lost at times, not sure if what we were doing and experiencing was to be expected or normal."

"Kerstin was the perfect support system we needed. She was extremely caring and was very in tune with what we wanted for our labor experience. She treated us with respect and was always there for us when we needed her. It was wonderful to meet with her a few days after our son was born to not only thank her, but to hear her experience as well. She helped us reminisce and remember certain aspects of our experience... We thank her for making our birth experience one that we look back on with wonderful memories."

birth is empowering.
let it empower you.
